Description

Church Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It features a painted timber frame with rendered and brick infill panels, along with stone rubble and ashlar dressings. The roofs are covered with plain tiles. The building has a T-shaped layout, consisting of a main range and a cross wing, with a lower range to the east that runs parallel to the main range.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a single storey and attic. The street-facing side has the main range on the right, showcasing square framing that is three panels high at the first storey, with leaded casements above a stone rubble ground floor and a plain boarded door. The right return has a painted stone rubble gable-end that has been rebuilt, while the rear is square-framed. The left gable-end of the cross wing features square framing with casements on each storey, protected by projecting tiled weatherings with hipped returns on the sides.

On the north side, the cross wing displays square framing that is four panels high, with a brick underbuilt plinth and casements on each storey. There is a 19th-century boarded central entrance door with a bracketed hood, along with an added tiled lean-to canopy. A projecting stone stack is located to the right. To the left is the gable-end of the parallel range, which has square framing that is three panels high, featuring straight arched braces and a gable truss with a cambered tie beam, vertical struts, a collar, and twin vertical struts, along with casements on each storey. The return sides also exhibit square framing with arched braces. The interior has not been inspected.
