Description

The Edwards Memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 13 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St George in Clun. It dates from around 1789 and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded plinth, sunken side panels with cable-fluted pilaster strips on either side, and raised end panels that have carved husk drops on the edges. The western panel includes a raised-and-fielded oval panel. The tomb is topped with a moulded cornice leading to a flat top. It commemorates Nancy Edwards, who died in 1789, and is included for its group value with the church.
