Description

The Lankey Memorial, located approximately 16 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St George, is a chest tomb dating from around 1805. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a moulded plinth, sunken side panels with flanking fluted pilaster strips, and raised end panels. The east panel has flanking shallow carved panels, while the west panel is adorned with carved drops on the edges. The top of the tomb is plain. This memorial commemorates Richard Lankey, who died in 1805, and is included for its group value.
