Description
The garden retaining wall, located approximately 100 metres to the west of Buntingsdale Hall, dates from around 1721 and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a moulded red sandstone coping. The wall is approximately 50 metres long and includes a central apsidal projection to the east. It has a plinth and pilaster buttresses, along with some later battered buttresses. The square end piers are topped with moulded stone caps. This wall serves to retain the garden to the east of Buntingsdale Hall, positioned above the estate road and ornamental lake, and is aligned with the east front of the house.
