Description
Holly Grove Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed of red brick with grey sandstone ashlar dressings. It features a two-span plain tile roof and stands three storeys tall. The building has a plinth, stone cill bands for the first and second-floor windows, a dentil brick eaves cornice, and parapeted gable ends with chamfered stone copings. There are integral brick end stacks.
The south front of the farmhouse has three bays, with glazing bar sash windows that are paired on the ground and first floors. These windows have exposed boxes, painted stone cills, and gauged brick heads with raised keystones. In the center, there is a pair of half-glazed doors with a plain architrave, which may have been altered. The end elevations are two bays wide and feature segmental-headed glazing bar sashes, also paired at the western end.
Inside, the farmhouse boasts an 18th-century dog-leg staircase with a landing, open string, stick balusters (two per tread), a fluted square foot newel, and a ramped handrail.
