Description

The Brown Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 24 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St George. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a cavetto-moulded plinth, sunken panels, an entablature with a moulded cornice, and a concave capping that supports an ovoid finial with a central raised band. It commemorates Francis Brown, who died in 1825, and Jane Brown, who died in 1839.
