Description

The Loveit memorial, located approximately 2 metres to the south of the Church of Saint Alkmund in Whitchurch, is a chest tomb dated 1815. It is made of grey sandstone ashlar and features a moulded plinth, fluted corner piers, and a moulded cornice on its flat top. The memorial has oval side panels adorned with fluted radial spandrels, as well as raised fluted oval end panels. The south side bears an inscription in memory of Ann Loveit, who died on 21st January 1815. The inscription on the north panel was illegible at the time of the survey in November 1986.
