Description
Noneley Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, which was extended in the mid-19th century and has had later alterations. It is constructed of red brick on a stone chamfered plinth, featuring rusticated angle quoins and a plain tile roof with coped verges on kneelers. The building has an H-plan layout with an additional gable at the rear, and all three gables were lengthened to the rear in the 19th century. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics in the gables, and it has a wooden modillion eaves cornice that wraps around the small central gable, along with floor bands. The facade includes a symmetrical arrangement of windows: three sets of one window each, featuring mid-19th century casements. The gable windows have plain wedge lintels, while the central first-floor window has a round-arched gauged head. There are narrow contemporary windows flanking the central entrance, which has a late 19th-century half-glazed door also with a gauged head. The gables of the attics have blocked square-headed windows. The farmhouse is topped with prominent rectangular red brick ridge stacks that have recessed panels on the gables. The extended gables reuse the original angle quoins and coped verges. Inside, there is an early 18th-century oak staircase with heavy turned balusters and a post that supports the ceiling in the hall. The rear gable features a moulded wooden modillion window with leaded lights, and 18th-century glass has been left in situ in the attic when the gable was extended in the 19th century.
