Description

The Old Vicarage is a house, originally built as a vicarage in the early 19th century, and likely incorporating elements of an earlier building. It is constructed of limewashed red brick with a slate roof and red brick stacks set behind the ridge, to the left and right. The house is two storeys high with a dentilled eaves cornice, and has a three-window front featuring glazing bar sash windows; the ground floor windows are tripartite with slightly cambered heads. The central entrance has a pilastered doorcase with a plain entablature, a six-panel door, and a rectangular barred overlight. Service ranges at the rear and a block set back to the right are thought to be of late 17th or 18th century origin, but were heavily altered in the early 19th century and their date is now uncertain.
