Description
Aston Grange is a house built around 1833-1838, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of rendered brick or stone and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with a belvedere, along with rendered ridge and integral side stacks. The building has a square plan and is two storeys high, with a continuous first-floor cill band. The front has three windows, with four-paned sashes on the first floor and six-paned sashes on the ground floor, all equipped with louvred shutters. The central entrance consists of six-panel double doors topped by a rectangular overlight, all under a plain Roman Ionic portico. The right side of the house mirrors the front but includes an open-pedimented break at the centre. Although the interior could not be inspected during the resurvey in March 1986, it was noted that the right ground-floor room has an original fireplace featuring a keystone shaped like a female head and pilasters resembling inverted consoles.
