Description

The Langford Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 19 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St George. It dates from around 1837 and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a plain plinth and sunken panels with double incised borders. Notably, it has an unusual corner treatment that includes Tuscan columns, with a full column at the corner and quadrant engaged columns on either side. The top of the tomb is plain. It commemorates George Langford, who died in 1837, and Mary Langford, who died in 1838.
