Description

The former font, located approximately 5 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St Mary, is a disused structure dating from the 15th or 16th century. It is made of sandstone and features an octagonal base, stem, and bowl, without any decorative enrichment. This font is believed to have originated from the old chapel at Acton Pigott, which was no longer in use by around 1730 and was largely destroyed by 1866. The font was still present at the site in 1786.
