Description

These are gate piers located approximately 20 metres south-west of Lowe Hall. They date from around 1666 and the late 19th century. The late 19th century piers are made of red brick and are square in shape, featuring 17th century moulded stone capping and pineapple finials. The finials are likely among the earliest representations of pineapples, which were first grown in Britain during the 1660s. These gate piers are included for their group value.
