Description

Nos 40, 41, and 41A on High Street are 18th-century buildings that have undergone modern alterations. They are constructed of painted brick and feature four sash windows with single glazing bars, although four windows on the second storey have been blocked. The buildings stand three storeys high and have a rebuilt parapet. No. 41 retains an early Victorian shopfront that consists of two bays divided into three lights by turned pilasters, topped with segmental heads. In contrast, No. 40 has a modern shop front. These buildings, along with Nos 40 to 43 and 43A, form a cohesive group.
