Description

No. 42 on High Street is an 18th-century building constructed of painted brick. It has three storeys and an attic, featuring two sash windows, a brick band, and a wooden modillion eaves cornice. The building includes one gabled dormer and is roofed with tiles. There is an early 19th-century shop bay window with glazing bars, a recessed doorway on the left, and a moulded cornice above, which is topped with an ornamental fascia board displaying "Steward Medical Hall" in raised white lettering. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 40 to 43 and No. 43A.
