Description
A terrace of five houses at 39-47 Whitehall Street, Shrewsbury, dating to around 1840. The houses are constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. They are two storeys high, with each house featuring a two-window front. The front doors are six-panelled, with plain overlights and a panelled architrave including console brackets to the entablature. The windows are 12-pane sash windows with flat-arched, gauged brick heads on both floors. End wall stacks are present. The design is similar to that of numbers 18-38 Whitehall Street, though with simplified detailing and a slightly smaller scale. The terrace formerly had wrought-iron balconies.
