Description
Stables, outbuildings, and a house at Stokesay Court were built around 1888 by Thomas Harris. The structure features dressed coursed sandstone with ashlar detailing and a plain tile roof that includes a bellcote, clock tower, and louvre, along with three rubble and ashlar stacks. The layout is arranged around a courtyard.
The exterior has two storeys at the front, showcasing two three-light mullion windows with leaded casements above a carriageway that has double doors. This is flanked by towers that feature moulded bands and shaped gables with enriched panels. To the right, there is a loft door beneath a shaped gable, while to the left, a three-light casement sits above a two-light casement, leading to an advanced wing with four- and three-light casements under a shaped gable. The house includes an open porch with an arcade and scrolled pilasters, leading to a plank door with a panelled head. Additional features include lead rainwater goods and terracotta ventilation panels.
There is a single-storey outbuilding and single-storey rear ranges that have parapets, shaped gables, and a glass-roofed portico. The windows in these areas include mullion and transom designs with casements and leaded lights, alongside various plank and double doors, as well as multiple wings and lean-tos.
Inside, the stables are adorned with ornate partitions, ironwork, and tiled walls.
