Description
Gardener's Cottage and the house to the north, which adjoins Trinity Hospital to the southwest, are a pair of houses likely built around 1857, with some 20th-century alterations. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble, featuring a rendered gable end to the south with a verge parapet and 20th-century shingled cladding at the rear. The roofs are slate and the buildings are arranged in a T-plan over two storeys. There are brick ridge stacks located off-centre to the left and right, with an additional stack in the angle of the T at the rear.
On the east front, there are 19th and 20th-century two-light wooden casements, with five on the first floor and four on the ground floor. Above the second first-floor window from the left, there is a gable with a verge parapet. Each house has a central 20th-century half-glazed door. These houses were likely built during the 1857 expansions of the Hospital and complete the third side of the outer court of the Hospital. They are included for their group value.
