Description
The former stable, located approximately 5 metres south of Number 58 (Weston House), is now used as a laundry. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and is constructed from painted dressed sandstone and brick, topped with a plain tile roof in a Gothick style. The building is one storey with a loft and features parapeted gables at both the front and back, which have stone copings and shaped stone kneelers. At the rear, there is a truncated integral brick end stack.
The stable has a central circular loft pitching eye, flanked by cruciform vents, with an additional cruciform vent above that includes a small pointed-arched opening at the apex of the gable. On the ground floor, there is a segmental-headed two-light wooden casement window to the right and a central segmental-headed half-glazed door. To the right, there is a two-storey lean-to that has a dentil brick eaves cornice and boarded doors for both the ground floor and loft. This building was originally the stable for Number 58, Green End.
