Description

This is a headstone located approximately 10 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Peter, dating from the 18th century. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features carvings on both sides, including a carved top. The front displays an inscribed cartouche surrounded by raised foliage ornament and topped with a cherub, all set within a raised border. The back has four panels with plain raised and fielded infill. The headstone commemorates John Starie, who died in 1743, and his wife Ann, who died in 1763.
