Description
This is an illegible headstone located approximately 1 metre south of the chancel of the Old Church of St Peter. It dates from 1769 and is made of upright sandstone, standing about 1 metre high. The headstone features a shaped double head, with the right half carved with a crown in a sunburst and the left half carved with an hourglass. The first line of the inscription is in italics, while the rest uses Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The inscription is largely illegible except in perfect lighting conditions, although the date 1769 can be discerned.
