Description
This building is a barn located approximately 40 meters south of Steventon Manor. It dates from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and was originally a house that has been extended and converted into a barn. The structure is made of stone rubble and brick, topped with a plain tile roof. The original 17th-century house features an 18th-century wing on the right and a 19th-century barn bay on the left. It is two stories high with a mix of windows and doors, including loft doors. The 17th and 18th-century windows have splayed moulded oak frames and central mullions, while the ground floor right has a gauged brick arch with a string course above. Inside, there is a fireplace in the partition wall to the left, ogee-stop chamfered ceiling beams on the ground floor, stop chamfered ceiling beams on the first floor right, and collared trusses, with an earlier queen-strut truss visible in the brick partition wall.
