Description
The dovecote located 10 metres north of the Old Rectory in Eaton Under Heywood is a structure dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It was originally a pigeon loft added to an earlier privy that included a pigsty beneath it. The building is constructed of brick set on a stone rubble plinth and features a plain gabled tiled roof with projecting verges.
The dovecote has three storeys, with plain doorways leading to the sty and privy, and a wooden casement window for the privy. The gable end includes pigeon holes, and there is a corner window for the pigeon loft. The interior has not been inspected.
