Description
Lower Hall and Upper Hall, located approximately 6 metres south of Old Court Farmhouse, is a barn that has been converted into two semi-detached houses. It dates back to the 17th century and has been extensively restored and altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular plan with four bays that are aligned north-west to south-east, forming the western boundary of the former foldyard. There is a gable-end stack on the north-west side, along with 20th-century additions to both the north-east and south-east gable ends. The structure is two storeys high, with 4-light and 3-light 20th-century windows in the original openings on the upper floor. Below, there is one 5-light window to the left and a single-light and 2-light window to the right, situated beneath the lintels of former cart entrances. Current entrances are found in lean-to additions on both the south-east and north-east gable ends. The building is included for its group value.
