Description

Wormbridge Court is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed of brick with a tiled roof. It has a rectangular plan oriented from south-west to north-east, featuring an axial stack and a lateral stack on the north-east side. The building is single storey with an attic.

The north-west front includes a string course and has projecting gables on both the left and right, which have raised verges and pilasters. The central gable also has raised verges and a finial. The façade is divided into five bays, each with paired glazing bar sash windows, and there are dormer windows in the intermediate bays. The ground floor of the central gabled bay features two paired sash windows set within segmental-headed arches. The entrance is located in a lean-to porch at the angle to the right of the left projecting gable, which has a partially glazed door.

Inside, there is a late 16th or early 17th-century chimney piece. The fireplace is flanked by Ionic pilasters with strapwork decoration and is topped by an overmantel that has two stages and three bays, adorned with grotesque figures and foliage, along with a fluted frieze at the top.
