Description
A group of five chest tombs made of sandstone ashlar is located about 3 to 15 yards south of the nave of the Church of St Peter.
One tomb is for John Jones, who died in 1728, featuring curved end panels and a flat capping. Another tomb is for Thomas Prosser, who died in 1760, with flat capping and massive volutes on the ends, while the side panels have ears at the top corners. There is an austere pair of tombs with plain flat cappings that have worn inscriptions; the southern one is partly legible and commemorates someone named Davis, who died in 1760. The last tomb is for Phillip Pritchard, who died in 1837, and it has a hipped capping and reversed battered sides.
