Description
5A and 6A Bridge Street are cottages that have been converted into a house, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The exterior features painted rubble and timber-frame construction, with painted brick on the first floor to the left. The steep-pitched roof is covered with stone tiles and has two ridge-lines, with a brick stack at the party wall to the right and another brick stack at the left end. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window range, including 20th-century metal casements and a small 19th-century casement to the left. There are two 19th-century plank doors in chamfered frames at the center, flanked by 20th-century metal casements. The left side of the building shows 17th-century timber-framing with a collared truss and a 19th-century two-light casement.
Inside, the property features spine beams and a winder stair. The right-hand unit was formerly a separate cottage and was built together with No. 6, which is not included in this listing.
