Description
The Rectory, now a house and offices, likely began as a 17th-century building, but was largely rebuilt in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Constructed from sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, it has Welsh slate hipped roofs and brick stacks. The building is roughly rectangular, with its main facade oriented southeast towards the garden. It incorporates cellars, two storeys, and an attic. The southeast elevation features a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with a 3:1:1 window layout. The windows are sash windows with segmental heads. Three gabled dormers are located on the left side, having 2-light casements from the late 19th century. A tripartite French casement window is positioned at the top of a flight of steps. The main entrance is at the rear of the building. A 2-light mullioned window is visible on the west wall, illuminating the cellar. Inside, a late 17th-century dog-leg staircase rises over four flights, displaying turned balusters, moulded strings, and handrails.
