Description

The gate in the south wall of the Prospect dates from 1560. It features a plain square-headed doorway with the date 1700 inscribed on the lintel. On the inner side, the doorway is flanked by Corinthian pilasters that support an entablature and a pediment, which includes a cartouche and the arms of Kyrle. The outer side displays the interlaced letters J K and C R on the tympanum.
