Description

The Old Post Office is likely a 16th or 17th century house, with later alterations. It is timber-framed with brick infill and a rendered finish. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, and there is a central stack. The building follows an L-shaped plan, with a main range of approximately three and a half bays running north to south, and a small projection to the south. It has two storeys. The west elevation has one window, a 20th-century two-light casement, and a wall frame with three to four square panels between the cill and wall-plate. The south gable features angle struts from the corner posts. The north gable has weatherboarded upper sections and two late 20th-century two-light casements on each floor. A ledged, nail-studded door, fitted with foliated strap hinges, is located on the left-hand side. The interior has heavy ceiling beams.
