Description
This building is a granary and stables, likely dating from the 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and timber-frame with brick nogging and weatherboards, topped with corrugated asbestos roofs. The structure is L-shaped, featuring a three-bay north arm and a five-bay west arm, and stands two storeys tall.
On the east elevation, there are two shuttered openings on the first floor, one on either side of two-leaved ledged doors that are accessed by tallet stairs from the right side. The ground floor has a central opening with oak diagonal mullions, flanked by ledged doors that lead to the tallet stairs. The timber frame is limited to the first floor, consisting of two square panels high to the wall-plate, with angle struts connecting two wall-posts to the wall-plate.
The south elevation features three openings with a gable front on the right side and includes three ledged doors, with the center one being a stable door. Inside, there are raking struts in the west arm and queen struts in the north arm.
