Description

Church Cottage is likely of the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of rubble with a timber frame, rough cast rendering, and a stone slate roof. It features an external stack with weatherings, a bread oven, and a detached brick shaft to the west. The cottage comprises two rooms and an outshot. The two-storey, two-bay south elevation includes two-light casements: one on the ground floor, two on the first floor, one in the attic, and one in the outshot. A ledged door, added in the late 20th century, provides access on the right-hand side. Inside, the roof structure features V-raking struts to the collar and continuous purlins through the central truss. A late 19th-century churchyard gate, decorated with trefoils, is attached to the west. The cottage forms a group with the Church of St Faith.
