Description
This building is an outbuilding located about 40 yards south-east of Trippenkennett. It was originally a cartshed and hayloft or granary. The structure features a recessed tablet with the inscription "W/179(?)6/ C" surrounding an owl hole on the south-west gable. It is constructed from thinly laid sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, brick, and has a timber-frame with a corrugated iron roof. The building is arranged in two bays aligned south-west to north-east and consists of two levels.
On the south-west gable, there are tallet stairs leading up to a central ledged door set under a segmental brick arch, with finely cut kneelers on each side and an owl hole located below the apex. The north-east gable also has a pair of kneelers and features two openings, one on either side of six rows of three nesting holes and ledges set in a brick panel. The north-west elevation includes a row of square plastered panels within a timber-framed band above a high cill beam, which is supported by a cylindrical column. Inside, the building has a collar truss with a tie-beam that is interrupted by queen posts rising from the floor beam to the principals.
