Description
A barn, likely used as a byre, dating probably from the 17th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, set upon a rubble base, with some areas of rubble walling and a stone-tiled roof laid in diminishing courses. The barn has six framed bays running east to west. The south elevation features five doors, while the east end contains a three-light window, a loft door, and another door. Internally, the wall framing includes four panels from the sill to the wall plate, along with some long straight lower corner braces. The roof structure consists of collar and tie-beam trusses with struts and two tiers of purlins. The barn was undergoing restoration at the time of survey in July 1986.
