Description
Fedw Farmhouse and the adjoining barn are a farmhouse and barn complex dating from the late 17th century, with significant remodeling in the 18th century and further alterations in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The farmhouse has an irregular layout, now forming an L-shape, with the east front facing the foldyard and a separate entrance front to the south. It features axial stacks and the barn extends to the east, attached at the north end of the house. The farmhouse is two storeys high.
On the south front, there are three 20th-century aluminium framed windows, and to the right of centre, there is a 20th-century gabled porch with a panelled door. The east front has altered openings with four 20th-century windows and a gabled porch at the right end, which has a ledged inner door. The adjoining barn consists of five bays with a central threshing floor, a loft to the left, and inclined strut trusses. Inside, the barn has been altered but retains a fine framed newel staircase with twisted balusters.
