Description

The Godsall monument, located about 20 yards east-south-east of the east window of the Church of SS Philip and James, is a pedestal tomb dedicated to Mary Godsall, who died in 1830. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features a deep plinth, roll-moulded corners, a frieze, a sharply projecting cornice, stepped capping, and a square-on-sphere finial. The monument includes oval inscription panels. This structure is part of a group with the nearby contemporary Poole monument.
