Description

The Price memorial is a chest tomb located about 57 metres north-west of the west tower of the Church of St Mary. It commemorates Margaret Price, who died in 1832. The tomb is made of ashlar and features bold corner balusters, a slightly raised inscription panel, a moulded cornice, and a bevelled top. The inscription reads: "Sacred to the memory/ of Margaret Wife of/ William Price of/ [ ..... ] in this Parish/ who Departed this Life/ [ ... ] 27th 1832 aged 72 Years/ [ 4 more lines]." This memorial is a fine example of stone masonry and enhances the church's setting, contributing to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
