Description

Credenhill Court is a country house that has been converted into a hostel. It was built in the 18th century and extended during the mid-19th century, with further alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. It has a rectangular plan that faces south, with 19th-century additions to the east and west, as well as to the rear. The main house is three stories high and is flanked by two-storey bowed wings from the 19th century. There are two string courses that are interrupted by a central, slightly forward projection, along with a moulded cornice and parapet. The main house has a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with two large windows, one smaller window, and two more large windows, all of which are sash windows with pronounced keystones. The first floor features a central Venetian window. A central Doric portico provides access, with a plain overlight and part-glazed inner doors. The flanking bows each have three sash windows. The interior of the building has been largely altered.
