Description

Pye's Almshouses, located on Edde Cross Street, date back to the 17th century but have undergone significant restoration. The building was originally founded in 1600, rebuilt in 1679, renewed in 1792, and re-endowed in 1884. It is two storeys high, constructed of red sandstone with a slate roof, and features a band between the floors. The windows are casement style, and the doorways have elliptical heads, with one original doorway still intact. The restoration work was completed in 1964.
