Description

This is an 18th-century hop store with 19th-century hop kilns, located approximately 10 metres south-east of Slatch Farmhouse. The hop store is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a tiled roof. It comprises three bays aligned east to west, with a gable entry on the north-east side and a further entry on the south front, slightly to the right of the centre. Two circular brick hop kilns are attached to the west side of the store, also with tiled roofs. The south front has five 2-light casement windows with latticed glazing to the left, and a similar window to the right of a ledged door. The interior of the hop store was originally two storeys, though the upper floor has been removed. Remaining are dropped tie-beam trusses with curved braces to the collar, along with an added 19th-century tie-beam and king-post. Slatch Farmhouse is not part of this listed building.
