Description
This building is a barn, likely from the 17th or 18th century, located about 40 yards northwest of South Hyde Farmhouse. It features a timber-frame structure built on a brick base, with weatherboards and a tiled roof. The barn consists of three bays and has central full-height entrances on opposite sides, which are made of diagonal boarding and corrugated iron. Inside, there is a threshing floor and a mix of hand and machine-cut posts, jowls, ties, and raking struts. To the right, there is a stable extension built on a rubble plinth, which includes a former pigeon-loft with three tiers of six holes. At the time of the last survey in May 1984, the tiles on this part were noted to be loose.
