Description
This is an oasthouse and a pair of hop kilns located immediately to the rear of South Hyde Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The structure is built of brick, with tiles on the house and slate on the kilns. At the east end of the five-bay oasthouse, there are two circular kilns, one of which still has its cowl and floor intact. The oasthouse features segmental-headed windows on the ground floor, along with three doors, two windows, and a catslide roof on most of its south front. The open-fronted catslide shelters three doors and a window, with an additional window to the right and a first-floor opening above it.
