Description
The sun-dial base, shaft, and platform, located about 40 yards south of the Church of St Margaret, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and ashlar. The structure features a rubble base with one step leading to a small stone base, an octagonal shaft with stop-chamfers at the bottom, and a chamfered octagonal platform top that has attachments for a sun-dial. This sun-dial is an important addition to the variety of monuments found in the churchyard.
