Description

This barn, located approximately 10 meters north of The Chantry, dates from either 1733 or 1753, although the inscription is partly defaced. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a pantiled roof. The barn has five bays that run north to south, with a central gabled projecting porch on the west front. This porch is flanked by two rows of three loop vents. The gable ends have raised verges and circular owl holes, with the date visible on the south gable. Inside, the structure includes collar and tie-beam trusses supported by two struts to the collar.
