Description
Moorhampton Farmhouse is a timber-frame building with brick nogging and brick additions, probably dating from the early 17th century, with alterations in the 18th and later centuries. It has a hipped Welsh slate roof and brick rear side stacks. The rectangular plan is aligned east/west, with short cross-wings at each end. The farmhouse has two storeys and attics.
The north elevation displays exposed timber-framed gable fronts at each end. The left gable has a 2-light casement, likely dating from the mid-19th century, above a tie-beam, and a similar casement beneath. The right gable has a single window just below the tie-beam. The central portion of the north elevation is brick, with five segmental-headed cross-casements above and a long, lean-to glazed porch with entry beneath. The frames of the cross-wings are composed of three square panels high from the cills to wall-plates.
The interior, noted in records, features exposed ceiling beams and an early 18th-century staircase with turned balusters.
