Description
A group of ninety-nine slate headstones dating from 1698 to 1836 is located to the south-west of St Mary's Church. The headstones are situated within a triangular plot of land bordered by a footpath to the north-east, the churchyard wall to the west, and a fence to the south. The headstones are predominantly slate with flat and curved tops and delicately inscribed fronts, arranged in irregular north-south lines. Notable inscriptions include George Graves (1799), Ann Richmond (1792), Martha Wood (1829), Timothy and Edith Buxton (1811), and John and Ann Knight (1815).
