Description
The Pumphouse, built in the late 19th century, is located in Kingston on Soar on the north side of The Green. It is constructed from wood, with some ashlar, red brick, blue brick, iron, and concrete. The building features a pyramidal roof covered with plain tiles and topped with a finial. Four chamfered wooden posts, resting on ashlar plinths to the north and concrete to the south, support the roof with small brackets. Inside, the floor is paved with blue and red bricks and ashlar, and there is a single central pump encased in wood that rises to the roof. The north side has an iron spout with an ashlar trough underneath. Wooden benches are attached to the east and south sides of the pump. The Pumphouse is included for its group value only.
