Description

This garden urn, located 50 metres south-west of Flintham Hall, dates from 1784 and is possibly the work of John Carr of York. It is made of ashlar stone and features a stepped square plinth. The urn itself is egg-shaped with a tapered stem and a gadrooned bowl. At the top, it has a cover adorned with an artichoke finial and foliate swags. The urn also includes a pair of ornate horseshoe handles and four lion masks. This urn is one of a pair that was originally situated at Ossington Hall.
