Description

Home Farmhouse is a mid-18th century brick farmhouse located on the west side of Main Street, Nortonton on Soar. It is constructed of red brick, with some blue brick and rubble, and has a plain tile roof. A prominent large red brick ridge stack sits in the centre. The eaves detail includes dentil brickwork, raised brick, and dogtooth motifs. The farmhouse is built on a rubble plinth. A band of red brick stretchers and blue brick headers runs around the building, and another band is positioned above the lintels of the ground floor windows. The building is two storeys high, plus a cellar and a garret, and has two bays. A blocked cellar opening, featuring a chequered segmental arch, is visible, and above this are two glazing bar sash windows on each floor.
