Description
Chestnut House is an early 18th-century house with substantial 19th-century additions. It is built of brick and has a steeply pitched pantile roof with gable copings. The house features one ridge stack and one end stack to the right. The original two-bay range is accompanied by a lower addition to the right and a lower rear wing. The main range is two stories high, with garret windows in the gable ends. The front facade includes a 19th-century canted bay window on the left and a later bay window to the right, which incorporates an open porch leading to the near-central doorway. Above this bay is an integral first-floor bow. A later ground floor bow has been added to the rear wing. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
